Bill Shapter started as a cameraman in 1965, moving to the cutting rooms in 1968 when he joined the BBC at Ealing Studios. He left the corporation ten years later and continued editing TV drama and feature films until he returned to the BBC in the late 1980's to produce "The Laughter of God." More recent production credits include "The Reconstructed Heart" for Channel Four and "Resort to Murder" for the BBC.
