(JUAN) Veteran Argentine actor Alberto de Mendonza has visited Brazil several times, having shot there, in 1963, the Spanish feature film production Samba, opposite actress Sarita Montiel. His ties to Brazil date so far back that he takes pride in having having known the old Urca Casino and having been to Carlos Machado's shows.

This time, Alberto de Mendoza is back playing Juan, the sophisticated tailor and father of Pedro Paulo (Antonio Fagundes) and Roberto (Pedro Cardoso). The actor defines Juan as "a tailor of the old days, eternally in love with women." Unfortunately for the inveterate womanizer and French music fan, his last wife left him pennyless. "It's a small role, but I had a lot of fun playing it. I played him with a lot of love and was glad to be part of such a collaborative effort."
