BILL WHELAN
(Composer) - One of Ireland's most renowned composers, Bill Whelan has worked as a composer, producer and arranger for many internationally-acclaimed artists including U2, Van Morrison, Kate Bush and Paul Brady. He is best known for his work as the musical force behind "Riverdance The Show"; his innovative approach to Irish music affirmed with the 1997 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. His release, "The Roots of Riverdance" chronicles the musical history and myriad of cultural influences which inspired him. Whelan's film credits include the score for Lamb with Van Morrison, the R.T.E.'s Twice Shy and the award-winning At the Cinema Place.
