Cast photoAcclaimed actress Harriet Walter (Mrs. Cavendish) is perhaps best known for her role as Fanny Dashwood in Ang Lee's "Sense and Sensibility." Her other films include "Reflections" with Gabriel Byrne, "Turtle Diary" with Ben Kingsley, Mike Newell's "The Good Father" with Anthony Hopkins, Louis Malle's "May Fools," "The Hour of the Pig" and "The Leading Man."

Walter has also made her mark on stage at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Britain's National Theatre and London's Royal Court, having played the great classical roles including Hedda Gabler, The Duchess of Malfi and Ophelia to Jonathan Pryce's Hamlet. She won the Olivier Award for Actress of the Year in a Revival for her performance in "Twelfth Night," and has also appeared in "Three Sisters" and "A Question of Geography." Last year she starred with Ralph Fiennes in "Ivanov" in London and Moscow. Walter's many television credits include the sleuth Harriet Vane in the "Dorothy L. Sayers Mysteries Trilogy," the leading role of Charity in the sexually-charged serial "The Men's Room," and Channel 4's adaptation of Anthony Powell's "Dance To The Music of Time." She recently embarked on her first sitcom, starring as Amy in the BBC's "Unfinished Business." She has also starred in numerous radio dramatizations and has twice won the Sony Radio Award for Best Actress.
