Tim Harvey has collaborated with Kenneth Branagh on all six of his feature films. Harvey's early career was in television design and his credits include such lavish productions as "I, Claudius," "The Borgias," "Bleak House" and "Fortunes of War" in which Branagh starred. His first film as production designer was Branagh's ambitious "Henry V" which was shot entirely at Shepperton Studios and was a triumph of design over budget. Harvey was also responsible for Branagh's stylish Hollywood Film, "Dead Again" for which he designed both contemporary and 1940s Hollywood. Back in the UK he created a country house ambiance for "Peter's Friends." "Much Ado About Nothing" made wonderful use of its Tuscan setting while for "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" Harvey had once to create an entire period world at Shepperton Studios. For A MIDWINTER'S TALE, he located the only disused church in suburban England that was also able to provide unlimited dressing rooms, prop rooms and everything else required for the production of the film. Filming had barely finished before Harvey was off to Italy to find a castle for Oliver Parker's film "Othello" in which Laurence Fishburne will play the Moor and Branagh will play Iago.
