Four-time Grammy Award-winner Lyle Lovett's first love and primary occupation is music. Five of his albums have reached gold status and his latest, The Road to Ensenada, has received critical acclaim and won the Grammy for Best Country Music Album of 1996.
Lovett made his acting debut in The Player, directed by Robert Altman. He describes the role as "a mysterious character who kills bugs." Altman asked Lovett to be in the movie after attending one of his concerts at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Lovett went on to appear in two more Altman films: Ready to Wear and Short Cuts.
