Li Yu Sheng
(Lord Tan) was born in October 1940 and graduated from the China Drama
School in 1960. He is regarded as one of China's most distinguished actors and
Peking Opera Performing Artists. He starred in "Yandang Mountain," a Peking Opera
film produced by the Beijing Film Studio. In 1989, he worked for the Central News
Documentary Film Studio for a film on Little Shang River. He has also worked with
the China Disk Company with a group of 18 opera singers performing modern Peking
Opera. He has written, directed, and performed in "Fighting in Ge River," "The
Big God of Qi Tian," "Su Dongpo Trial," "The Prose for Eagle's Worry," "Coming
Out Guan Yuchang," "Knife of White Monkey," "Sacrifice for Ludeng" and many others.
