Born in 1948 in Tbilisi, Georgia, Svetozarov studied in a public
school in Leningrad and served in the Soviet Army (1966-69). In 1974
he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music
and Film (LGITMiK) as a theater production designer and was hired
by Lenfilm Studios. As an art director he has worked on over forty
films with such top directors as Dinara Asanova, Ilya Averbakh, Aleksei
German, Sergei Rogozhkin, Vladimir Bortko. He is a member of the Filmmakers
Union of Russia, and has received the top Russian national film and
TV awards.
