SUSAN SKOOG (Writer/Director)


Susan Skoog is a 10-year veteran of the entertainment industry, in a highly-successful career as a writer, director and producer for television networks TNT, MTV, TCM, VH-1 and CBS. In 1995, Skoog received two Cable ACE Award nominations; for TNT's "Inside the Academy Awards" and "Our Favorite Movies". As a producer/director for VH-1, she produced the channel's film program "Flix", as well as numerous installments of the Cable ACE Award-winning series "VH-1 to One".

Skoog's first narrative short film, A Dry Heat, was accepted to the Cannes Film Festival and subsequently screened at the Avignon, Hamptons, Boston, Vancouver, Palm Springs and Seattle Film Festivals.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 1993, Skoog has produced and directed a number of documentary specials and interstitial programs. The subjects include two one-hour specials on the Academy Awards, as well as retrospectives on the work of Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorese.

A native of Red Bank, New Jersey, Skoog is a 1987 graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Her studies included training with the esteemed acting teacher Stella Adler.
