"The First True Comedy About Call Waiting!" - Rene Rodriguez, MIAMI HERALD

A Film by Hal Salwen

Winner of a Special Jury Prize at the 1995 Deauville Film Festival, and a Special Mention for the Camera d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival DENISE CALLS UP is the story of seven very busy young professional friends who have forged more intimate relationships with their computers and telephones than with each other. In this clever comedy for the carpal tunnel set, people fall in love, get pregnant, fall out of love, and die without ever getting off the phone. All seven are single and comfortably self absorbed, until a quirky and extremely pregnant stranger named Denise calls out of the blue to thank her sperm donor, and sends the entire group into a tailspin. With the breakneck pace of a comedy of manners, DENISE CALLS UP is a spoof on life and love in the age of call waiting.
