When I read the script I was overwhelmed by the character of Marie. I immediately felt a strong wish to play this character and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. Subsequently, two months before the start of filming, some screen tests were made, during those tests I wanted to add even more detail to the character. Playing Marie was like meeting a real person.
On the set Erick always asked me to stretch myself further. At each take he demanded more so I evidently gave more. I knew his presence would be strongly felt and that he would not let up.
I didn't know Elodie and I was struck by her generosity. We shared a flat for the duration of the shoot and that added intimacy to our relationship. We are very different from each other, yet the whole experience was intense and enriching.
