PENELOPE CRUZ (Pagan Lace) was already a star in her native Spain when she was first introduced to American audiences in the Spanish films JAMON, JAMON and BELLE EPOQUE. In 1998, she starred in her first English language film, HI-LO COUNTRY opposite Woody Harrelson. A year later, she was the recipient of the Best Actress award at the 13th Annual Goya Awards given by the Spanish Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, for her performance in Fernando Trueba's THE GIRL OF YOUR DREAMS. Additionally, Cruz co-starred in Pedro Almovodar's critically acclaimed ALL ABOUT MY MOTHER, which received both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Foreign film.

In 2001, Cruz starred in New Line's BLOW for director Ted Demme, a true story set in the 70's and told through the eyes of a young American, played by Johnny Depp, who became one of the biggest U.S. cocaine traffickers for reputed drug kingpin Carlos Escobar. Cruz starred as Depp's wife. She also starred opposite Nicolas Cage in the screen adaptation of Louis de Bernieres' best-selling WWII novel CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN. Cruz also recently starred in Cameron Crowe's VANILLA SKY, opposite Tom Cruise.

She also starred opposite Matt Damon in the highly anticipated screen adaptation of ALL THE PRETTY HORSES, directed by Billy Bob Thornton and played Isabella in the whimsical WOMAN ON TOP for Fox Searchlight. Additional feature credits include her starring role in the thriller OPEN YOUR EYES and the romance TWICE UPON A YESTERDAY. She also starred in Pedro Almodovar's LIVE FLESH, TALK OF ANGELS and DON JUAN.

The day she finished shooting MASKED AND ANONYMOUS, Cruz flew to Paris to begin production on FANFAN LA TULIPE. Additional upcoming projects include HEAD IN THE CLOUDS and GOTHIKA.
