Lu Li Ping
(Madame Ren) was born on April 3, 1960 in Beijing. She graduated from the
Acting Department of the Central Drama Academy in 1984. Her film appearances include
"Childhood Friend," "Grandmother from Zhang Family," and "Hi, Brothers." She played
Duan Xifeng in "Old Well," in which her performance of a tender country woman
won her the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 8th Golden Rooster Awards in
1988. She also won acclaim for her performances in "Policeman of the Year," "Meeting
with Passion," and "Youth Without Regret." Her extraordinary performance in "The
Blue Kite" won her the Best Actress Award at the 1992 Tokyo Film Festival. Her
other film appearances include "Spicy Love Soup."
